We Care In Bapatla

Dorcus House has been supporting an orphanage in the small town of Bapatla, India, since 2013.

This orphanage currently supports 20 children aged 6-18yrs and their carer. These children have all come to the home for various reason and most are orphans. The children are given a safe environment in which to live. The girls live in the newly re-furbished building which is safe, secure, clean and dry. The boys live in a 2 room house which is 2 doors down. The children are fed 3 times a day which usually consists of rice, vegetables and spices. They have running water, western toilets and shower (but no hot water).

All the children are required to and gladly attend school. They do their studies in both their Indian languages Telugu & Hindi and also in English.
